Just wanted to say I can't wait to see you guys at North Beach again. I was the lady who was getting married and I bought a lot of decorations etc for the wedding. Katrina was FANTASTIC...she was so sweet and helpful...and I promised her some pics next time you guys were here so I will bring some down of the way we decorated and if you think it might be helpful to other people planning a bali wedding and you like them you can put them on the website. We ended up buying the huge black stone buddha, loads of your turquoise lamps, so many of your blue/turquoise and flags I lost count...and lots of other bits and pieces...and to top it all off I had been salivating over the beautiful large turquoise mosaic urn you had down there but knew I'd be pushing my luck trying to get that into the wedding budget...anyway we had told our friends not to worry about wedding presents...but a couple of our friends had seen it and thought we would love it (totally unaware that we had fallen in love with it)...and they delivered it to the house a couple of days after the wedding!!! It was an amazing gift and we just couldn't believe it...as I said to Katrina at the time...if it was meant to be ours it would be and karma would take care of it...and I never thought that the universe would deliver it to us in such a beautiful and generous way....anyway enough of my rambling lol....I'll see you next week!!!
Sounds great....yes..Katrina will be running the new sale at Northbeach...and any pics you have we would be pleased to put them on the website...give others a few ideas.
We have a problem at Northbeach in that due to a few of the traders complaining to the new owners, we have been cut back dramatically on our area, so much so that we will only be able to have about half what we normally set up in.
Unfortunately it is too late for us to change sites..we had booked it every year for some time now and no one told us until the last minute that we didnt have the same area...and by then it was too late to book another site. Not much we can do but grin and bear it..
A few of our regulars arent very happy either as, to be honest, we give the place some life...normally it is dead when we arent there and we certainly bring people into the centre and keep them there so everyone gets a spin off. We cant say who complained but you can probably imagine who...( we would love to name them!!)..... but most of the successful shops there want us there as often as possible.There are a few great operators in the centre who are progressive and see the big picture, some, however, dont and couldnt if they wanted to.Shops who give poor service and are overpriced cant blame anyone but themselves for their poor trading, and eventually either do something about it or go to the wall.
It's easy to look out of your shop when you are quiet and blame whoever you can see for all your woes.....and unfortunately its us!! Some retaillers need a long hard look at themselves not others!
All we can suggest is that people who feel strongly about us going back there in future let the owners know of their concerns.We certainly will have to rethink our going there in future.
Anyway...we will be there Monday..albeit in a smaller area and we will be bringing in stock daily to supplement what is there, right thru till after Christmas.
We go to North Beach every sale and if you guys weren't in there the place would be dead as... reminds me of the poem...the butcher, the baker and the candle stick maker (does the candlestick maker do hair?)

We know the centre very well and no wonder some of the shops struggle...they just dont care if you buy off them or not..take it or leave it is the attitude which is sooooo 19th century!
Well..it's their loss...a lot of customers are talking about when you are going back and why you can't have your usual sized display....we know who the grizzlers at that centre are and certainly won't support them.
Oh..heard you have another sale opening up at a yet to be disclosed shopping centre????
We used to go to that shopping centre a bit, but it was always like a morgue..only thing going for it was the IGA opened long hours. Some of the other traders!!..the only bakery for kilometres around where you can get a coffee closes for 2 weeks when they go on holidays!....so much for looking after customers!
The quicker they get another coffee shop the better. Anyway, we will go the few extra kms to the Kardinya sale and spend our money there!..stuff NorthBeach!
